Book Club: Five Girls by Sam Haskins

I recently ventured into Kiki de Montparnasse, an upscale lingere shop in Soho (think Agent Provocateur but ten times better) and was pleased to discover that the store was decorated with Sam Haskins’ photographs. For those unfamiliar with his work, Haskins was one of the most influential photographers of the sixties and seventies, primarily known for his dreamy, playful images of women in various states of undress. His seminal book Cowboy Kate, which Kathryn Flett of The Observer called "...a revelation,” was reissued by Rizzoli last year. All of his other books are currently out-of-print including the lovely Five Girls, which I recently picked up on eBay.





UPDATE: Freakish Coincidence Alert! My father read this post and called to inform me that he also owns a copy of Five Girls, which was given to him as a birthday present back in the sixties. Bizarre.
