Plaid, ombre, aubergine, oh my!

I came across these street style photos of Joanna Newsom (from Mister Mort) while I was frantically searching the internet for information about her forthcoming album. Normally I would be insanely jealous of any girl sporting that Fall '09 Comme des Garcons trench with Opening Ceremony booties and kelly green 2.55 but I am totally happy that Joanna posesses such fabulous things. Nothing is more annoying than celebrities who drop tons of money on Coach bags and ugly Balmain sandals when they could be buying Rodarte dresses and Tabitha Simmons shoes. Joanna, on the other hand, clearly has fantastic personal style. She even matched her Starbucks cup to her outfit! I can't help but wonder what is inside that cup; I think it's probably a Gingerbread latte...

Fashion on Film: Cracks

I am really excited to see Cracks, which stars Eva Green, was produced by the incredible Christine Vachon, and looks to be a hybrid of Heavenly Creatures and Picnic at Hanging Rock. Oh, and it has copious amounts of gorgeous clothes....

Cat Paint!

My public transportation experiences are much more enjoyable now that I have discovered that magical Cat Paint iphone application. You can basically just insert a cat into any of your photos. You only have eight cats to choose from but who cares, it's 99 cents. Below are some of my favorite creations; I must note that I also used the Camera Bag application (magazine filter) to give them a more surreal, contrast-y look.

Rachel Antonoff's Spring presentation was adorable but sadly cat-less. Problem solved.
Katie in the bathtub. I love how the cats provide an instant murder narrative.
Sweetie singing Rhiannon. I love that "She is like a cat in the dark and then she is the darkness" lyric.
An abstract composition. Check out other masterpieces at the Cat Paint gallery

SAVE LUELLA !

from the daily mail -
LONDON -- Luella Bartley, the young British designer whose quirky yet feminine designs have adorned model Kate Moss and singer Lily Allen, has become the latest fashion casualty of the recession.Bartley's label, Luella, ceased trading after its ready-to-wear producer closed last month and its main financial backer pulled the plug on any further investment, the company said in a statement emailed to Reuters on Wednesday. Luella Bartley Ltd said its key producer in Italy, Carla Carini, unexpectedly closed last month, leaving the brand unable to fulfil its spring/summer 2010 orders. VSQ Ltd, which also distributes for Armani, advised Luella that it had decided not to invest further in the label, the statement said.Bartley won Designer of the Year at last year's British Fashion Awards and her Luella-branded designs are popular with a number of celebrities."This is a very disappointing situation for everyone involved with the brand," Luella Bartley said. Bartley, a former British journalist who founded her company a decade ago, has attracted continued adulation from the fashion press and her celebrity fans. "We have a number of options open to us and are considering these over the coming months," Bartley said. Known for its idiosyncratic and humorous mix of punk details and party dresses, Luella is the label of choice for the streetwise British girl-about-town and is regularly worn by London gossip-page regulars Alexa Chung, Allen and the daughters of singer/campaigner Bob Geldof. The designer once described her look as "the kind of clothes you can get drunk and fall over in." Luella handbags, hair accessories and leather goods sell well: the dresses -- around 500 pounds ($800) each -- may not be cheap but they are popular in boutiques as well as in up-market high street stockists and her range of graphic T-shirts provides a "way in" to the brand at a lower price.Bartley launched Luella in 1999. Her fusion of traditional British influences -- Crombie coats and hunting jackets -- with quirky modern details chimed with a revived "Cool Britannia" movement. She opened her flagship store on Mayfair's Brook Street in 2007.

Where The Girls Are

As per usual, Lyell is driving me crazy.

I need a "get rich quick" plan. Her collaboration with UO was such a bust in person* - back to wanting the good stuff.

*not Ms. Fletcher's fault, bien sur

Next week I am going to see Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys and I am so so so so excited,Kasabian are my second favourite band after Arctic Monkeys,so to see two of my favourite bands in the same week, its just immensely exciting.

I have brought a new dress for Arctic Monkeys, which is a similar style to the one Alexa Chung wore to The September Issue Premiere (I need to see that) below.

However,I am having my mum alter the dress as I think it is a little too long,it will look much better shorter, the dress is black though,so the colour is not the same, just very similar style wise.
For Kasabian I am wearing either an American Apparel dress or a Topshop playsuit, which do you think?

Also, what do all you lovelies think of Alexa in the dress at The September Issue?
I think she looks gorgeous not sure about the Chanel booties with it though,I love those Chanel boots so much though, but just not with the vintage dress. All over the internet people are claiming she looked too much like a granny, even though Alexa describes her style as a child dressing up in her grandmas clothes.

Peace...
