When you wish for something hard enough...

...Forever 21 will make it happen! Over the weekend, Chelsea and I fantasized about the day F21 would knock off THOSE Alexander Wang sunglasses, yes, those...

and lo and behold, today I found a pair! So they might not be the same as their $300 counterparts, but for $5 and maybe with a little help from some gold nail polish, they are satisfying my desire for pointy cat-eye sunglasses.

The Ghost Who Walks

The Huffington Post, of all places, alerted me to the fact that Karen Elson is set to release an album this summer. Unsurprisingly it was produced by Jack White. And if this video that she posted on her website is any indication, it's going to be amazing.

Fashion on Film: Female Convict #701: Scorpion

I don't think that anyone has ever looked as chic and badass as Meiko Kaji did in the Female Convict #701: Scorpion movies. Meiko is basically the Japanese equivalent of Pam Grier; she starred in a bunch of exploitation flicks during the seventies. As the title suggests, the Scorpion movies definitely fall into the women in prison category. She also looks pretty fly in Lady Snowblood which served as the inspiration for Lucy Liu's character in Kill Bill Vol. 1. I may have to do a follow up post about Meiko, this girl is incredible.

Cool Cat

Did I really buy these last night? Yeah, totally. Here they are in red if you also feel like you can't live without obnoxiously bright sunnies that fold up into the shape of a cat head. Somebody is going to knock these off in like....two seconds.

Feeling Groovy

Down with the eighties, the seventies are back! I really hope that this look catches on because if I see one more grotesque Balmain interpretation at Forever 21 I think I'm going to lose it.

Chelsea #2 Preview!

Here are a few preview images from the forthcoming issue of my magazine Chelsea. These photos were taken by my favorite collaborator and dear friend Sarah Wilmer. We shot the editorial in Humboldt County, California where me and Megan grew up. It was a truly magical shoot and I can't wait to show you the rest of story, not to mention the rest of the issue! It's coming out in spring, I will keep you guys updated!

Also, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Sarah Wilmer, Megan Hart, Nica DeMaria, Sara Long, My parents, and the (literally) dozens of other people who contributed to this shoot. I am so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life!

Kitty Caller

Making a phone call is a hell of a lot cuter when you have the Kitty Caller iphone application. This adorable little furball even meows when you press the keys! Big thanks to our reader Kari for the tip.

People are the Ultimate Spectacle

I think it's safe to say that everyone is saddened and horrified by Alexander McQueen's death. His They Shoot Horses Don't They?-inspired spring 2004 collection was one of my favorites of the decade. R.I.P.
