I <3 Bona Drag

When I first stumbled across Bona Drag I was immediately smitten with owner Heather's aesthetic and unabashed obsession with Morrissey. I fell in love with the Mooka Kinney Maeby Jumper and promptly snapped it up.



When it arrived a cute mix cd was included that has been on heavy rotation ever since. I recently ordered this print of The Ronettes drawn by Molly Butterfoss along with this adorable card I couldn't resist (is it wrong to buy a card for yourself?).





To my delight a new mix cd was included that's just as jammin' as the first, hand-wrapped in a glossy editorial tear. Heather knows the way to a girl's heart: free stuff that is actually awesome!

Karen Elson Can Do No Wrong

Aside from being one of the most amazing models to ever exist, co-founder of the Citizens Band and Jack White's baby mama, Karen Elson is planning on opening a vintage shop in Nashville, TN where she currently resides. Ah, my heart is full! Just one more reason to take a trip to the South, which has been on my to-do list for the past 10 years.

"I want to sell everything from vintage Kenny Valenti and rare Ossie Clarke to Valentino couture--but also cheaper vintage stuff to attract a wider audience."

Vena Cava Vs. Old Navy

I'm pretty surprised that Old Navy got to this before Forever21. The Vena Cava Bernard dress in Wicker Print was shamelessly knocked off to become the Color Block Tank Dress at Old Navy. I actually noticed this while flipping though the May issue of Lucky a while back and was surprised that Lucky would include it in their deals section as Vena Cava's prints are completely recognizable...but whatever. Here's the photographic evidence:

I know that blatant knock-offs have become so everyday no one bats a lash anymore but there's something seriously cruel about copying those Vena Cava prints. Instead of taking advantage of awesome modern advances like illustrator, the Vena Cava ladies still hand draw all their prints and take them to Kinko's to photocopy/enlarge. Bad Old Navy, BAD!
