United Bamboo Post-it Cubes?

I love the new United Bamboo post-it cubes, they go perfectly with my Jeremy Scott Trapper Keeper and my Obesity & Speed white-out pen. Ok, the last two are not real (unfortunately) but you can actually buy United Bamboo post-it cubes at Gargyle, my new favorite boutique in Brooklyn. Their website also boasts an impressive selection of Karen Walker sunglasses, which all of us at Cat Party are thoroughly obsessed with. Hide your credit cards!

Hey Lover

For the first time in my life I'm genuinely excited about a swimsuit. Specifically, the Lover swimsuits that will hit stores this Spring! I must admit that I probably won't be skipping along a sandy beach in one, but rather masterfully incorporating them into my wardrobe as the ultimate base layer; with high-waist jeans, skirts, shorts and under v-neck sweaters! I plan on getting as much mileage out of these babies as possible, and if I happen to find myself next to a body of water I guess I can jump right in.

Cheap Chic: Best Tights Ever!!

Trying to layer on as many prints as possible when I get dressed is always a goal of mine. A great print or knit (Or printed knit!? Yes please!) will always make my heart flutter, so when I came across these tights on Joy Of Socks I thought I might die of joy! The icing on my cake! Since I never wear jeans, bulking up my tights/leggings collection is very important and I think I will be ordering ALL of the tights on this website ASAP!!! Oh yeah, they're super cheap too!

People We Love: Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama is pretty much my hero. A self-described "obsessive artist," Kusama's work is characterized by her excessive use of polka dots, which she uses to blanket rooms, people, clothes, pretty much anything that crosses her path. She appears in that Marc Jacobs documentary and I can only assume that the plethora of polka dot Marc by Marc accessories were inspired by her work. I wish Jacobs had decided to collaborate with her instead of simply appropriating her work. I would love to see Louis Vuitton bags defaced with her polka dots--how rad would that be? Anyway, Kusama is clearly an underrated fashion icon. I suggest channeling her in Mayle's Makino dress, worn with matching polka dot tights. Or you can swing by the New Museum Store and pick up some official merch, like her heart-shaped box of chocolates. You can eat them and then use the box to store your jewelry. Or your Xanax. Jk!

Oh Hell Yes

Azzedine Alaïa + Juergen Teller + Stephanie Seymour + Cathy Horyn? Oh hell yes. Paradis magazine brought together all of my favorite people for this feature on Alaïa in their Autumn/ Winter issue. Horyn’s article was predicably insightful but what really struck me was the fact that Stephanie Seymour owns 1,500 Alaïa pieces. Bitch! And while we’re on the subject, what’s with those Juergen Teller + Harmony Korine + Marc Jacobs ads? I must say, Harmony's looking a little chubs these days. I think Trimspa just found their new spokesperson!

Best Hair Ever

Major props to style.com for finally covering the pre-fall collections. I am loving the beehives at Chanel, despite the fact that they were most likely inspired by Amy Winehouse’s ratty signature ‘do. I prefer to associate the beehive with cooler, less cracked-out girls like Kate Pierson & Cindy Wilson from the B-52’s.

Cheap Chic: Delia's!

I'm not even going to lie, I totally get excited when the new Delia's catalog in the mail. Not the same excitement like when I was 15, but I still really love playing the "if you had to buy something on each page" game and seeing the familiar face of my favorite Top Delia's Model Sarah Ruba (who is also in a band called New Look). I should actually do a separate post completely devoted to her because she is totally cute and is modeling for just about everyone now. Look for that later, now on to the Delia's picks!

Naomi Shirt Dress $44.50

People We Love: Camilla Akrans

I get giddy whenever a female fashion photographer breaks into the big leagues. No one is more deserving than Camilla Akrans, whose enchanting photographs remind me a bit of David Hamilton’s work (minus the scantily clad preteens). Akrans first landed on my radar with her dreamy Paul & Joe ads, now I can’t wait to see everything that she does.

I love having an excuse to look for pictures with kitties in them now! This picture is from the (big, beautiful, expensive) book Balenciaga Paris and it incorporates three of my favorite things in life: Natalia, kitties, and of course, Balenciaga! Doesn't that jacket remind you of the Iris Apfel one I posted below? Hmmm...

My New Favorite Shoes

Two creative masterminds, Christian Louboutin and David Lynch recently collaborated on a project called Fetish. I love me a good collaboration, and when I heard about this one I was immediately overcome with excitement. These shoes/photos are wonderful and sexy and whimsical and I wish I had tons of money so I could, you know, wear these shoes to the grocery store. Obviously!

Cat Fancy #1

Welcome to the first installment of Cat Fancy, an ongoing series of posts devoted to cats in fashion editorials. Because really, what could be a better accessory than a giant fluffy persian? The photos below were plucked from an eighties Paris Vogue. Unfortunately I failed to take note of the photographer, but he/she is a genius! If I had actually graduated high school (Thank you, G.E.D!) I would have wanted my yearbook photo to look exactly like these! So cheeseball!
